Cardinals serve Hounds a loss

The East Surry tennis team traveled to North Surry for a match without its No. 1 singles player Thursday.
How did it go? The loss of Shelton had no ill effects, as the Cardinals swept the Greyhounds, 9-0.
East Surry picked up six shutouts during singles. North Surrys Tedi Sue Tucker and Abigail Brannock were the only players to win games during singles.

DOBSON Tara Dockery and Hunter Marion picked up singles wins, but it wasnt enough, as Surry Central fell to visiting Bishop McGuinness Thursday.
The Golden Eagles fell to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in Northwest 1A/2A play.

WINSTON-SALEM On the road and facing a 4A school, Mount Airy came up with a big win over R.J. Reynolds.
The Granite Bears (5-1) got singles wins from Ellie Case, Elizabeth Dinkins, Jordan Gwyn and Alex Rigney. Merry Kessler teamed with Dinkins for a doubles win that sealed the team victory.
