PILOT MOUNTAIN Mr. Herbert Eugene Faw, 80, of 249 S. Boyles Street, Pilot Mountain, husband of Mrs. Betty Jo Wilson Faw, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 14, 2009, at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Surry County to the late William Euriah and Mittie Ann Jarrell Faw. He was retired from the N.C. Granite Corporation and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in Korea. Mr. Faw was very active in the nursing home ministry at Golden Living Nursing Center for over 30 years and was of the Pentecostal Faith. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Wilson Faw, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jeff Holder of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Patricia Faw of Knightdale; five grandchildren and four spouses Jeffrey and Kimberly Holder of Kodiak, Ark.; Benjamin and Charlotte Holder of Lexington, Christopher and Laura Faw of Knightdale, Ryan Faw of Raleigh, Beth and Nick Perkins of East Asia; five great grandchildren, Keegan Holder, Kyleigh Holder, Raylen Holder, Cason Holder and Olivia Faw; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruby and Jim Uldrick, Rachel and William Puckett, and Louise Vaughn, all of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Ann Faw, Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Faw was preceded in death by three infant sisters and a brother, Paul Faw. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy conducted by the Rev. Lee Boyette and Dr. David Sparks. Burial will follow in the Midkiff Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain.
