Browne-Young couple marries

Catherine Skelton Browne and Rodger Allan Young were married May 2 in a 7:15 a.m. wedding at Atlantic Beach, Fla. Clinton Stanley performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Linda V. Browne, 112 Knotts Court, Sneads Ferry, formerly of Mount Airy, and the late Thomas M. Browne. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin G. Vick and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey S. Browne. She graduated from Mount Airy High School in 1985 and N.C. State University in 1990. She is employed at OM WorkSpace, Jacksonville, Fla.
The bridegroom is the son of Dorine Thomas and Rodger Young Sr. of Gainesville, Fla., and the grandson of Tina Masciale of Coca Beach, Fla., and the late Benjamin Masciale, and David Young of Ocala, Fla., and the late Mildred Young. He graduated from Bucholz High School, Gainesville, Fla., and the University of Florida. He is employed at Sodexho USA, Tallahassee, Fla.
The bride was escorted by her uncle, Marvin G. Vick Jr. She wore an elegant raw silk sheath with a sweep train and shoulder-length veil. She carried white calla lilies.
Members of the wedding party were Linda V. Browne of Sneads Ferry; and Dorine Thomas, Jessica Thomas and Jenne Thomas, all of Gainesville.
The bridegroom wore a traditional green orchid lei. The groomsmen, wearing green orchid boutonnieres, were Ret Thomas, Rodger Young Sr. and Jim Masciale, all of Gainesville; and David R. Browne of Sneads Ferry.
A reception was held at Adele Grage Cultural Center, Atlantic Beach.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Jacksonville, Fla. They reside in Tallahassee.
