Runnin Patriots split, White Plains loses pair

The Surry Runnin Patriots boys started slow and couldnt catch Woodland Baptist in a 72-59 loss.
Daniel Sheaffer paced Surry (12-6) with 23 points and Luke Hamilton added 14, but the team had troubles making open shots. Coach Lin Hamilton put it best by saying, We could not throw the ball in the ocean.

Lady Pats up mark to 17-0

Hannah Tompkins scored a game-high 17 points to go with four assists and four steals, and Sally Ann Edwards grabbed her 500th career rebound, as the Surry Runnin Patriots (17-0) downed Woodland Baptist 68-48. The Runnin Patriots broke open a close game by spreading the floor against the bigger team and making open shots against the zone defense.
Surry returns to action at 11 a.m. Thursday when it meets Crammerton Christian Academy at the Piedmont Classic.

KING White Plains Christian Schools boys and girls teams dropped a pair of games to Calvary Christian School in King on Tuesday night.
White Plains boys basketball team suffered a 44-28 loss to Calvary, and White Plains girls were edged 35-32 by Calvary.
Leading White Plains boys team, James Cromer scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
White Plains trailed 18-12 at the half. The visitors were outscored 15-9 in the third quarter en route to their 16 point loss.
Setting the pace for Calvary, Tyler Palmer scored a game-high 18 points.
Leading White Plains girls squad, Anna Eaton posted a double double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Sara Locklears 13 points led Calvary. Calvary led 20-15 at the half.
Calvary enjoyed a 7-6 third quarter advantage en route to its three point victory.
White Plains outscored the hosts 11-8 in the final quarter but could not catch up.
White Plains travels to Morganton on Friday.
