Sales totaled 766 head, including cattle (747) and goats (19) during Tuesdays sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.
Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:
– Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $45.50-$56; cutter and boning, $42-$55; canner and low cutter, $32-$45.
– Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $55.50-$64.50; 1,500 pounds and up, $56.50-$64.
– Stock cows: 875-1,050 pounds, (S1) $330-$570; 1,050 pounds and up, (M1 & M2) $450-$760.
– Cow/calf pairs: too few.
– Baby calves: $12.50-$60.
– Feeder steers and bulls: 200-300 pounds, (M1) $98-$122, (small frame) $73-$100; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $94-$105.50, (small frame) $80-$93.50; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $88-$95, (small frame) $76-$93; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $85-$95.50, (small frame) $70-$85; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $80-$91, (small frame) $70-$80.50; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $84.50-$89.
– Feeder heifers: 200-300 pounds, (small frame) $75-$85; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $86-$89.50, (small frame) $77-$87; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $82-$89.50, (small frame) $79-$85.50; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $83.50-$90.50, (small frame) $65-$82; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $82-$88, (small frame) $79-$83; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $80-$84.
– Goats: kids, $20-$30; others, $20-$90.
