A traffic stop stemming from suspicion of driving while impaired has led to felony methamphetamine charges against two Mount Airy men.
City police pulled over a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix about 2 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 52 South at Wisconsin Lane.
Two occupants of the vehicle, Kevin Bradley Beverly, 28, of 119 Gemstone Lane, and Tony William Epperson, 35, of 1321 Carolina Court, allegedly were found in possession of methamphetamine.
Beverly was charged with manufacturing the drug and possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance. Epperson is accused of possession of methamphetamine. Both men also were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Each was held in the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court in Dobson on Sept. 17.
The vehicle they were in was impounded, according to arrest records.
