MOCKSVILLE Mr. Freddie Cave, 73, of Liberty Church Road, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Davie County Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late John Lonnie and Alma Hudson Cave and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Freddie loved gardening and doing yard work. He enjoyed watching sports especially racing, Braves baseball and Carolina Panther football. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Cave. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Thompson Cave of the home; a daughter, Myra Dawn Cave of Kinston; two sons, Mark Daren Cave (Annette) of Mount Airy and Mickey Derek Cave of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Meagan, Rachel and Chloe Cave; a sister, Shirley Gray of Hamptonville; a brother, Randall Cave (Sue) of Mocksville; a step granddaughter, Anna Marie Martin; his beloved pet, Casey and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his special friends Bonnie and Lassie Myers. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Dr. David Gilbreath and the Rev. Greg McEwen officiating. Interment will follow in Eatons Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11, at the funeral home.
