Davis-Whitaker couple marries in vows performed at Fairview Baptist Church

Amy Gail Davis and Brian Stuart Whitaker were united in marriage on Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. in Fairview Baptist Church. The Rev. Andy Atkins officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Randy and Sandra Davis, 512 Rockford Road, Dobson, and granddaughter of Mary Davis. She graduated from Surry Central High School and Gardner-Webb University with a bachelor of science degree in human services. She is vice president of BSA Logistics LLC
The bridegroom is the son of Kent and Lynn Whitaker, 5121 Siloam Road, Dobson, and the grandson of Hilda Harbour. He graduated from Surry Central High School and UNC-Wilmington with a bachelor of science degree in business management, production and operations management. He is employed with DH Griffin Companies as a project manager.
Instrumental music by Corda Entertainment was presented with Kevin Mundy as soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a strapless satin A-Line gown embellished with beading and sequins along the bodice and train. Her finger-tip veil featured rhinestone edging. She wore a Davinchi cut diamond necklace, a gift from her parents, and carried a European nosegay of green cymbidium orchids, green and hot pink roses, pink calla lilies and hot pink gerbera daisies adorned with jewels.
Mackenzie Whitaker of Dobson was the maid of honor. She wore a watermelon pink European satin halter with a ball gown skirt accented with a wide sash that looped in the back forming long tails. She carried a smaller version of the brides bouquet.
The bridesmaids were Audra Cox of Elkin, Jessica Hayes of Mount Airy, Tiffany Settle of Elkin, Laura Whitaker of Siloam, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Bridgette Buckner of Dobson, and Beth Whitaker of Dobson, sister of the bridegroom.
Anna Whitaker, niece of the bridegroom was the flower girl. She wore a white satin multi-tiered dress featuring a watermelon-pink sash and a halo of miniature roses with wax flowers.
The bridegooms father served as best man. The groomsmen were Blake Davis of Dobson, brother of the bride; Brandon Whitaker of Mount Airy, brother of the bridegroom; Tyler Ward of Raleigh; Justin Snow of Mooresville; Scottie Davis of Dobson, brother of the bride; and Benjamin Whitaker of Siloam, brother of the bridegroom.
Chelsey Goin was the guest register attendant. Holly Whitaker was the ceremony director and On Occasion of Winston-Salem served as wedding coordinator.
Following the wedding ceremony the brides parents entertained with a reception and seated dinner at Cedar Brook Country Club of Elkin. Greeters were Tim and Lisa Caudle. The three-tiered cake, created by Bella Cakes, was designed with square stacked cakes. Music was provided by On Occasion.
The newlyweds later departed on a western Caribbean cruise to Key West, Fla., Cozumel, Mexico, and Belize City, Belize.
The couple will reside at 535 Chattooga Place Drive, Wilmington.
The bridegrooms parents hosted a rehearsal party on the Harbour farm. A barbecue dinner was served at the renovated barn, originally built by the bridegrooms great-grandfather.
