Mappa-Willard couple marries in vows at First Baptist Church

Heather Marie Mappa and Michael Lee Willard were united in marriage on Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Mount Airy. The Rev. Lee Daniels officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Philip and Judy Mappa of Mount Airy. She graduated from North Surry High School and Surry Community College. She is self employed.
The bridegroom is the son of Dale Willard and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mears of Mount Airy. He graduated from North Surry High School and is employed at Cooke Rentals.
The wedding music was presented by First Call DJ of Clemmons.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless ivory gown with a black beaded bodice.
The bride was attended by maids of honor Kyrie Garst of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Kathleen Moore of Wildwood Crest, N.J. The bridesmaids were Karye Williams of Traphill, Kelly Key and Autumn Willard, both of Mount Airy, and Sherrie Parker of Wildwood Crest, N. J.
Ava Willard of Mount Airy was the flower girl.
Fred Moore of Wildwood Crest, uncle of the bride, was best man. The groomsmen were Justin Gough, David Mappa and Anthony Mappa, all of Mount Airy, Shawn Groce of Traphill and Brandon Junk of Saddlebrook, N.J.
A reception followed in the church fellowship hall.
The bridal couple departed on a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge. They reside in Mount Airy.
The brides parent hosted the rehearsal dinner at their home on the eve of the wedding.
