MOUNT AIRY Mrs. Geraldine Jackson, 61, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sept. 8, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Jackson was born in Surry County on Nov. 10, 1947, to the late Hasley Sherley Shockley. Mrs. Jackson was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Jackson is survived by her loving husband, Terry Jackson of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and wife Amanda Jackson of Mount Airy; her mother, Virginia Virse Shockley of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and wife Vicky Shockley of Dobson, Donnie and wife Carol Shockley of Dobson and Louise Shockley of Mount Airy; two sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn and husband Johnny Hazelwood of Mount Airy and Patty Shockley of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Isabella and Makynna Jackson; one special friend, Carl Pack; mother-in-law, Opal Marshall; and brothers-in-law, Burt and Dewey Jackson. She is preceded in death by her father; and brother, Archie Shockley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Hawks officiating with interment to follow at the Peoples Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the Jackson family.
