A Mount Airy man was arrested after deputies discovered a large amount of marijuana while investigating a weekend domestic dispute.
On Sunday, Surry County Sheriffs deputies arrested Darrell Hughes Bowman, 36, of 184 Barker Road, Mount Airy after responding to a domestic disturbance at his home.
According to Sheriff Graham Atkinson, during the investigation, deputies allegedly found marijuana, smoking pipes and marijuana seeds throughout the residence.
Bowman was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture marijuana, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault on a female and resisting a public officer. Bowman was released after posting a $11,000 secure bond.
Narcotics detectives discovered 15 marijuana plants in the backyard of the residence.
