Pride keep winning

KERNERSVILLE The bats of Jordan Miller and Josh Beasley stayed hot past the weekend and the Surry Pride Junior American Legion team dropped Kernersville, 8-1 Monday night.
Miller belted his third home run in the past two games, a solo shot in the fifth inning. Beasley belted a pair of doubles and drove in four before finishing 3-for-4.
The Pride broke the game open in the top of the third with a six-run inning. They raked five hits in addition to being aided by four walks and two errors courtesy of Kernersville.
Winning pitcher Jacob Pelfrey threw five innings and struck out three.
As of Monday, the Pride was 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Area 3 conference.
