Samuel-Blaylock couple marries at All Saints Episcopal Church

Leigh Catherine Samuel and Jonathan Wesley Blaylock were united in marriage Aug. 1 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Linville. The Right Rev. Gary Gloster officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Samuel of Wilkesboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Brown of Lexington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Samuel of Mount Airy. The bride graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 2002 and received bachelors degrees in English and communication and a masters degree in technical communication from North Carolina State University. She is employed by Red Hat, an open source software company, where she works in the Corporate Communications department.
The groom is the son of Dr. Bill Blaylock of Rocky Mount and Ms. Susan Blaylock of Wilson. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lynn Blaylock and the late Mr. N.B. Blaylock Sr. of Rocky Mount, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip West of Windsor. The groom graduated from Hunt High School in 1998 and received a bachelors degree in natural resources and a graduate certificate in geographic information systems from North Carolina State University. He is employed as a GIS specialist by AMEC Earth and Environmental in Cary.
Anna Trice of Raleigh, childhood friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Brittany Samuel of Apex, sister-in-law of the bride; Kimberlee Blaylock of Winston-Salem, sister-in-law of the groom; Whitney Wagoner of Raleigh; Brittany Arnold and Heather Brown, both of Atlanta; Sara Sloan of Wilmington; and junior bridesmaid Lauren Currier of Lexington, cousin of the bride.
Bill Blaylock of Rocky Mount, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Justin Blaylock of Winston-Salem, brother of the groom; Jordan Samuel of Apex, brother of the bride; Andrew Wheeler of Beaufort; Marc Sloan of Wilmington; and Evan Wagoner of Raleigh.
Ushers included Andrew Blaylock of Gainesville, Fla.; Brent Blaylock Jr. of Miami; Taylor Brett of Greensboro; and Andy Slaughter of Durham, all cousins of the groom.
Wedding music was provided by organist Ramona Curtis and soloist Carla Bowers. A song prepared for the couple was presented by Peter Lipscomb of Washington, D.C., childhood friend of the bride. Scripture was read by Amanda Kuhn of Midlothian, Va., a childhood friend of the groom.
Kim Brown of Lexington, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Laura Brooks of Wilkesboro attended the guest register, and Katy Osborne of Durham and Anna Hagaman of Boone were the program attendants.
A reception in honor of the bridal couple was hosted by the brides parents at the Eseeola Camp in Linville.
Guests were greeted by Monty and Diane Shaw and Jim and Patti Trice of Wilkesboro. The wedding party and guests danced to music provided by the Ocean Boulevard Band.
After a honeymoon at the Outer Banks, the couple is residing in Cary.
The bridal couple, wedding party and close friends and family were honored at a rehearsal dinner at the Eseeola Lodge dining room in Linville, hosted by Dr. Bill Blaylock and Ms. Susan Blaylock, parents of the groom.
A bridesmaids luncheon, hosted by Kim Brown, Janet Monk and Lynda Currier of Lexington and Joyce Younger of Mount Airy, aunts of the bride, was held at Storie Street Grille in Blowing Rock on July 31.
