– A Mount Airy teen has been accused of a felony assault violation, according to city police department reports. Xavier Stillman, 19, of 147 W. Church St., was charged Monday with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. The case stems from an incident in early October, for which further details were not listed. After turning himself in at the police station on the assault warrant this week, Stillman was released under a $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Jan. 13.
– Travis Shane Brooks of Lambsburg, Va., reported early Wednesday that he had lost his wallet on Tuesday night after going through a checkout line at Kmart, then found that it had been stolen. The wallet contained $1,200 in cash, personal checks, a Social Security card, a drivers license and other items, according to the report. The case remains open for further investigation.
– A larceny was reported Monday at Fancy Gap Outfitters on North Main Street. An employee there said that a white female, whose approximate age was not given, took a white insulated Carolina Tar Heels vest, valued at $141, from the store after switching it for an identical item that she had worn into the business. The suspect then left without paying for the new vest, police were told. The incident, which actually occurred on Dec. 3, remains open for further investigation.
– Levi Daniel Hill, 30, of 2012 Rabbit Ridge Road, Ararat, Va., was arrested Sunday on a charge of felonious possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, for which a warrant had been filed on May 9. Hill was placed under arrest at the Patrick County, Va., Jail in Stuart after being released from custody there. He subsequently was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
