Atkins-Harold couple exchange vows during afternoon service at Temple Baptist Church

Amanda Ann Atkins and Clarence Dale Harold were united in marriage on Saturday, April 11, 2009, in a 2 p.m. ceremony at Temple Baptist Church, Mount Airy. Garry Sawyers officiated the service.
Beth Clement, pianist, provided the music, and songs during the service included Lost in this Moment with You by Big and Rich and Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban.
The bride is the daughter of Ricky Dean Atkins of Mount Airy and the late Peggy Diane Atkins and the granddaughter of the late Curtis Tolbert and Lena Tolbert and the late Octavia White. She graduated from North Surry High School in 2005 and Surry Community College in 2008, where she received an Associate of Arts degree in EMT-Paramedic certification. She is a member of the Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad and is employed by Surry County Emergency Services as an EMT-Paramedic.
The bridegroom is the son of Sammy and Nancy Harold of Ararat, Va., and grandson of Betty Collins and the late Ted Collins, H.C. Harold and the late Eva Robertson. He graduated from Carroll County High School in 1999 and Surry Community College in 2003, where he obtained a paramedic certification. He is a member of the Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad and is employed as a critical care paramedic with Surry County Emergency Services.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a satin A-line gown featuring side draping and beaded metallic embroidery on the bodice and a chapel-length train. Her headpiece was a rhinestone tiara adorned with a waist-length veil of tulle featuring rhinestone and flower detailing. She carried a traditional cascading bouquet of white Casablanca lilies, yellow roses, yellow Peruvian lilies, yellow carnations and daisies, which was accented with pink sweetheart roses and pink miniature carnations.
Crystal Diane Willard, sister of the bride, of Raleigh served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Vannessa Vaught, Angela Goins, Kendra Jordan and Tenielle Meadows, all of Mount Airy, and Bambi Shelton of Dobson. They wore full-length pale yellow sleeveless halter-top dresses and white healed shoes and carried hand-tied bouquets of pink roses, yellow roses, pink carnations and yellow carnations.
Madison Willard of Raleigh was the flower girl, and Zachary Hutchens of Mount Airy was ring bearer.
Sammy Dale Harold served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Kenneth Vaught, Jody Goins, Roger Horton and Josh Jarrell, all of Mount Airy, and Josh Booker of Dobson.
A reception followed the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
Peggy Wagoner served as wedding director. Other attendants were Carolyn Bullen, Karen Haynes, Edna Harold, Lori Easter and Greg Hiatt.

A rehearsal dinner was provided by the grooms parents following rehearsal.
Following a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple will reside in Ararat, Va.
