Hutchens Laundry & Cleaners, of Mount Airy, was recently recognized by the Washington, D.C.-based Clothing Care Council.
Hutchens earned the 2008 Award of Excellence for Quality Garment Cleaning and Customer Service. The award is given by the council to cleaners who meet a number of cleaning and customer service evaluation benchmarks. The firm is one of 140 worldwide to earn the recognition.
With so many cleaners out there, I know its tough for a consumer to know which cleaners are the good ones who care, said Aaron Routh, owner of the company. We are proud we surpassed the Award of Excellences tough requirements. This award is verification by an independent international organization of our commitment to excellent quality and customer care.
Although the firm has won the award, the Council said it would continue to be evaluated to maintain its status as an award winner.
To remain in the program, Hutchens Laundry & Cleaners must adhere to rules designed to ensure that customers get the service and quality they deserve on every trip, the Council said in a written statement. The companys cleaning performance and stain removal abilities will be re-evaluated on a regular basis. If any failings are identified in the cleaners system they will be warned. If the situation does not improve, they will lose their status as an Award of Excellence cleaner.
