Lady Cyclones win 12u title

The Lady Cyclones 12u fastpitch softball team won the IFA state tournament held in Burlington, Oct. 2-4. There were 15 teams from across North Carolina playing in the tournament and not only did the Cyclones win the title of state champs, but they also won a free spot in the IFA winter World Series and five free tournaments for the 2010 season. Highlights for the weekend were: Marlee Bunker had a .645 batting average and two RBIs, Amber Lawson had three RBIs and won the Umpires Choice game ball. Sam Cox had a .500 batting average and two RBIs, Gracie Lindsey had five RBIs, Kaylee Tilley hit three homeruns had six RBIs, pitched a no hitter and won game MVP, Eden Durnil had four RBIs and one homerun, Lauren Armand had four RBIs, Hayley Tickle and Madison Widener had two RBIs and Evie Scott won tournament game MVP. The team scored a total of 74 runs over the weekend. The Cylcones pose with their championship trophy.
