Staff Report

Aaron Gibbons posted a double dobule, scoring 20 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in the Surry Runnin Patriots boys basketball teams 77-58 win against Greensboro Tuesday night at the Fountain of Life Center.
Also for the victors, now 13-8 overall, Luke Hamilton had a double double with 15 points and 17 rebounds, Daniel Sheaffer grabbed six rebounds, Josh Welch had five rebounds and Austin Lester added five assists.
We wanted to push the ball and we did, Surry Runnin Patriots boys coach Lin Hamilton said. We were playing a little bit of man defense early. We finally got on the boards, and we pulled away there.
Hamilton was happy with his teams efforts on the boards.
We ended up with 54 rebounds to their 28 rebounds, he said. We tried to keep a big lineup in the paint, and they did not shoot the ball well from the 3-point line. Aaron Gibbons had a great game for us. He got everybody involved, pushing the ball and looking to make the assist. It was a great effort by our team.
Ian Dovan led Greensboro with 13 points.
