DOBSON Mr. Glenn U. Draughn, 84, of Dobson, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on June 8, 1925, to the late Samuel James and Grace Edmonds Draughn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover and Paul Draughn; and a special sister-in-law, Louise Simpson Draughn. Surviving are his loving sister who cared for Glenn, Fern Draughn of the home; a special sister-in-law, Jewel Draughn of Dobson; several special nieces and nephews; and several special great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, in the Cemetery of New Home Church of Christ. There will be no formal visitation held, but the family and friends can view Glenns body at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Brother Tim Smith will conduct the graveside service.
