DOBSON Mr. Richard Franklin Frank Collins, 61, of Dobson, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 20, 2009, after a brave fight with Lou Gehrigs Disease (ALS). He was born in Surry County on May 1, 1947. He was the son of the late Jonas Franklin Collins and Vernice White Collins. He was a member of Field of Grace Baptist Church. Frank retired from Keith Hawthorne Ford after 18 years of dedicated service as used car sales manager and buyer. His pastime was showing Tennessee Walking Horses and restoring his antique truck. Frank is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Snow Collins of the home; one sister, Brenda Faye Collins; one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Misti Collins of Dobson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Collins Branch and Don Branch of Dobson and Sheila Collins Bowman and Tommy Bowman of Dobson; six grandchildren, Joshua Bingman, Jessica Bingman, Brandy Bowman, Brooke Bowman, Savannah Collins and Corbin Collins; several nieces and nephews; and five special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy and Carol Snow of Dobson, Jimmy and Shirley Snow of Winston-Salem, Jerry and Carol Snow of Dobson, Elmer and Juanita Holst of Pilot Mountain and Jessie Elders of Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Rickey Martin and the Rev. Bobby Lewis will conduct the services.
