Mount Airy handles Elkin, 86-65

ELKIN Mount Airy had little trouble with Elkin Friday, defeating the Buckin Elks 86-65.
The Granite Bears started strong and never looked back, scoring 28 first half points inside the paint while also hitting on 4 of 7 three point shots for the half.
The Bears succeeded in keeping Elkin out of their half court offense and were able to force a more up tempo game with many of the Bears points coming off Elkin turnovers.
Dillon Bobbitt and Wade Moody led Mount Airy with 21 points and 19 points respectively, with Justin Collier adding 16 points and Robbie Rives adding 13.
Elkin was 17-38 from the free throw line for the game, making up nearly one third of their points.
Justin Strickland and Dalton Brewer led Elkin with 12 points each, followed by Russell Stewart with 11.
