Stroupe-Martin share vows at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy

Sarah Ruth Stroupe of Ararat, Va. and R.J. Martin of Mount Airy were married on June 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy. The Rev. Dr. Steve Lindsley and Major John Tolan officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Andrew and Laurie Stroupe of Ararat, Va., and graduated from Carroll County High School.
The bridegroom is the son of Janet Hauser of Lowgap and Ronald Gene Martin Sr. of Mount Airy. He is a graduate of North Surry High School.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The maid of honor was Kayla McCormick of Cana, Va. The bridesmaids were Lauren Ashlee Day, of Mount Airy; Lydia Stroupe, of Ararat, Va., sister of the bride; and Anna Stroupe of Ararat, Va., sister of the bride. The flower girls were Shaylee Tilley, sister of the groom, of Lowgap and Zoe Gwynn, cousin of the bride, of Cana.
The ring bearers were Bucky Tilley, brother of the groom, of Lowgap and Micah Gwynn, cousin of the bride, of Ararat, Va.
The best man was Shane Edwards of Mount Airy. The groomsmen were Ronald Gene Martin Sr., father of the groom, of Mount Airy, Daniel Stroupe, brother of the bride, of Ararat, Va. and David Worrell of Mount Airy.
Keshia Gwynn, cousin of the bride, was the soloist, Jerry Pendleton, grandfather of the bride was the accompanist during the ceremony.
Heather Gwynn, cousin of the bride, of Cana was the scripture reader.
The reception was a Tea and Tea Dance at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bryant, masters of ceremony, provided the entertainment.
The couple went on a wedding trip to Asheboro and reside in Lowgap.
