On May 24, Christ Community Church of Mount Airy held its worship service outside in the parking lot of Millennium Charter Academy in celebration of the churchs one-year anniversary. One year ago its first worship service was held in the parking lot of the Creekside Cinema.
Several members of the congregation shared what a blessed year it has been and how thankful they are to the churchs pastor, Dr. David Brady, and his wife, Jennifer, for their leadership, love and devotion to share the gospel with the church, the community and the world.
Some of the highlights of the year have been the first baptism, held in the Fisher River Park in Dobson; first Pastor Appreciation Day, also held at Fisher River Park; three parent/child dedication services; missions support to the N.C. Baptist Cooperative Program, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, and supporting the Salvation Army, The Shepherds House, Yokefellow Ministries, Foothills Food Pantry, Joy Ranch and Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
The church also has supported the Lifeline Pregnancy Help Center, organized a Womens Missionary Union, organized a Christian Mens Ministry, held its first evangelistic outreach event, held two eight-week sessions of home group Bible studies; and had its first wedding.
Christ Community Church is at 500 Old Springs Road, Mount Airy. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and the worship service starts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays the church has a prayer meeting at 7 p.m.
