The board will consider an inter-local agreement between Surry County and the town of Dobson for service and operations of county water lines. The agreement includes water lines in the areas of Forest Oaks, Surry Acres, Rockford Elementary School, Snowberry Lane, Tobe Hudson and Oak Grove Church Road and the Interstate Water and Sewer District. The town will be conducting operations, maintenance and billing on those lines if approved.
The board will also consider a resolution opposing various electric rate increases for North Carolina. In June, Duke Power proposed a 59-percent rate increase for municipalities to the state utility commission.
Paul Hensch, a consultant for the town from All-American Associates, will give the board a grant update.
General town business will be discussed before the board plans to go into a closed session to discuss a matter involving attorney-client privilege.
