PAINTER
HILLSVILLE, Va. Mr. Felin Painter, 89, of 2502 Pilot View Dr., Hillsville, Va., widower of Mrs. Glaspa Quesinberry Painter, passed away Feb. 8, 2009, at his home. Mr. Painter was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Carroll County to the late John Henderson and Amy Bowman Painter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, was a retired farmer and attended Puckett Memorial Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eldon and Sharon Painter of Hillsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tommy Shepherd of Stuart; six grandchildren and spouses David Painter of Hillsville, Robbie and Chelsea Painter of Laurel Fork, Charles and Stacey Shepherd of Claudville, Matthew and Emily Shepherd of Apex, Angela and Eddie Williams of Martinsville and John Foster of Stuart, and three great grandchildren D. J. Painter of Hillsville, Kaden Shepherd of Claudville and Isaac Williams of Martinsville. In addition to his wife and parents Mr. Painter was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kaye Painter, and by a brother, Walker Painter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Feb. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church with services conducted by the Rev. Tommy Shepherd and Elder Melvin McGrady, with burial to follow in the Painter Family Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Hillsville VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post # 1115. The family will receive friends Tuesday night 6 to 9 p.m. at Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy will be serving the Painter Family.
