Ultimate Dance Studio catches Boogie Fever

PILOT MOUNTAIN Dancers from Ultimate Dance Studio from Pilot Mountain, competed at the Boogie Fever Dance Championships in King on April 18. Under the direction of Monika and Patrick Priddy, the Petite/Junior Performance Team, Petite/Junior Competition Team and Teen/Senior Competition Team joined dancers from all over to compete for top awards. Dancers competed in Solo Routine, Duo/Duet/Trio and Group categories.
In the Solo Routine division, Amy Wall received an Outstanding Gold Award, First Over-All Petite Recreational Solo, and was named a Petite Miss Dance USA finalist with her Jazz routine, Smile. Blake Hewett received an Outstanding Gold Award, Second Over-All Petite Recreational Solo, and was named a Petite Miss Dance USAfinalist with her Lyrical routine, Reflections. Bethany Hewett received an Awesome Gold Award, Second Over-All Junior Recreational Solo, and was named a Junior Miss Dance USA finalist with her Musical Theatre routine, Popular.
Austin White received an Awesome Platinum Award and First Over-All Teen Recreational Solo with his Clogging routine,Starstruck. Audrey Kiger received an Awesome Gold Award, Second Over-All Teen Recreational Solo, and was named a Teen Miss Dance USA finalist with her Lyrical routine, Crush. Ashley McBride received an Awesome Gold Award, Third Over-All Teen Recreational Solo, and was named a Teen Miss Dance USA finalist with her Lyrical routine, All Around Me. Brittany Wilson received an Awesome Platinum Award, Third Over-All Senior Recreational Solo, and was named a Miss Dance USA finalist with her Lyrical routine, Not Gonna Cry. Brittany also received an Outstanding Gold Award with her Modern routine, Ballerina. Monika Priddy received an Awesome Platinum Award with her Clogging routine, Ultimate DANCE Mix.
In the Duo/Duet/Trio division, Amy Wall and Meredith Ring received an Awesome Gold Award and First Over-All Petite Recreational Duo/Duet/Trio with their Jazz Duo, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Monika Priddy, Patrick Priddy and Austin White received an Extreme Platinum Award and First Over-All 13 & up Duo/Duet/Trio with their Clogging trio, Shakin It Up. Bethany Hewett, Blake Hewett and Amy Wall received an Outstanding Gold and Second Over-All Petite Recreational Duo/Duet/Trio with their Hip Hop trio, Flip.
In the Group division, the Petite/Junior Performance Team received an Awesome Gold and Second Over-All Mini Small Group with its Lyrical routine, My Little Girl. Members of the Petite/Junior Performance Team are Belle Bullington, Haley Chilton, Emily Cox, Destiny Eads and Hannah Johnston.
The Petite/Junior Competition Team received an Awesome Gold Award and First Over-All Petite Recreational Small Group with its Lyrical routine, Fly To Your Heart; an Awesome Gold Award and Second Over-All Petite Recreational Small Group with its Jazz routine, Kim Possible; and an Outstanding Gold Award with its Clogging routine, Wild One. Members of the Petite/Junior Competition Team are Bethany Hewett, Blake Hewett, Meredith Ring and Amy Wall.
The Teen/Senior Competition Team received an Awesome Platinum Award and Third Over-All Teen Recreational Small Group with its Lyrical routine, Fall For You; an Awesome Gold Award with its Jazz routine, So What; an Awesome Gold Award with its Clogging routine, Piece of Me; and an Awesome Gold Award with its Hip Hop routine, Take It To The Floor. The team also received an Extreme Platinum and Second Over-All Senior Competitive Small Group with its Clogging routine, Work Me Down and an Awesome Platinum Award, Third Over-All Senior Competitive Small Group, and Choreography Award with its Modern routine, One Song Glory. Members of the Teen/Senior Competition Team are Audrey Kiger, Ashley McBride, Austin White, Tiss White and Brittany Wilson.
The Petite/Junior and Teen/Senior Competition Teams came together for a Jazz Production, Dancing Queen, which received an Awesome Gold Award, Third Over-All Junior Recreational Large Group, and an Awesome Entertainment Award.
UDS qualified to compete at the USA National Dance Championships to be held this summer in Fort Mill, S.C., to compete.
