Bears, Eagles postponed

DOBSON Mount Airy and Surry Central will complete their girls varsity tennis match today at 4:30 p.m. after rain forced both teams from the court.
Mount Airy was leading 4-0 before the skys opened up. The Granite Bears and Golden Eagles will have short rest periods because of the delay, with Mount Airy set to travel to 4A Reynolds in Winston-Salem and Central set to host Bishop McGuinnes on Thursday.

Cardinals fly by West Stokes

KING The East Surry girls tennis team came close to a shutout, but had to settle for an 8-1 victory over host West Stokes Tuesday.
The Cardinals (5-2, 4-2 Northwest 1A/2A) swept the first eight matches before losing the final doubles contest. The visitors won all but one game during singles play.
East Surry host East Wilkes this afternoon in a non-conference matchup at 4:30 p.m. The Cardinals return to Northwest action Thursday by visiting North Surry at 4:30 p.m.
