SYKESVILLE Ms. Bertha Golding Mobley, 88, of Sykesville, Md., formerly of Carroll County, Va., and Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Ms. Mobley was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Carroll County, Va., to the late Squire Franklin and Martha Elizabeth Carson Golding. Ms. Mobley was retired from the AmVets where she performed clerical work and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia Jacobs of Eldersburg, Md., and Nancy Carol Calvagna and husband Sal of Holbrook, N.Y.; one son, Ernie Lee Mobley of Chambersburg, Pa.; two grandsons, R.J. Jacobs of Baltimore, Md., and Salvatore Anthony Calvagna of Holbrook; and two sisters, Ruth Barker and Ida Shelton, both of Toast, N.C. In addition to her parents, Ms. Mobley was preceded in death by three sisters, Maude Edwards, Fannie McKinney and Mamie Ramey; and four brothers, Emmett Golding, Ralph Golding, Reuben Golding and Harvey Golding. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The service will be conducted by the Rev.
