Sales totaled 1,079 head, including cattle (935), goats (136) and hogs (8) during Tuesdays sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.
Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:
Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $45.50-$51.50; cutter and boning, $45-$56.50; canner and low cutter, $36.50-$49.50.
Slaughter bulls: 1,500 pounds and up, $62-$69.
Stock cows: 1,050 pounds and up, (M1 & M2) $440-$610.
Cow/calf pairs: too few.
Baby calves: $15-$50.
Feeder steers and bulls: 200-300 pounds, (M1) $100-$114; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $98-$110, (small frame) $61-$98; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $90-$107, (small frame) $50-$97.50; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $84-$104, (small frame) $55-$88; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $82.50-$98, (small frame) $65-$85; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $72.50-$89.
Feeder heifers: 200-300 pounds, (small frame) $78-$85; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $86.50-$102, (small frame) $69-$84; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $83-$89, (small frame) $62-$81; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $80-$88, (small frame) $65-$81; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $76.75-$80.75, (small frame) $65-$75; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $69.50-$71.
Goats: kids, $9-$40; others, $25-$52.50; large billy, $30-$105.
