MOUNT AIRY Richard Gayle Perry, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, in the Stokes Memorial Hospital in Danbury. Mr. Perry was born March 27, 1928, in Penn., to Dewey Edward and Eva Ruth Dixon Perry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Youngblood Perry. Mr. Perry is survived by daughter and son-in-law Mary Perry-McCormick and Greg of Mount Airy; son and daughter-in-law Bob and Joyce Perry of Pilot Mountain; grandson Joey McCormick of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Branham and Esther Perry of Rising Sun, Md.; Edmond and Anita Perry of Florida; sister-in-law Beulah Youngblood of Galax, Va.; special caregiver Paula McCarty and 19 nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at 7 p.m. in the New Charity Baptist Church on White Pines Country Club Road in Mount Airy with the Rev. Hank Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. until time for the service. Interment will be Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Mount Hope Church Cemetery beyond Fries, Va., with the Rev. Ken Blevins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Charity Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA is serving thefamily.
