Oviedo, FLA.Mr. John William Westmoreland Jr., 84, of Oviedo, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in Florida. Mr. Westmoreland was born in Carroll County, April 2, 1925 to John William Westmoreland Sr. and Mary Alice Willard Westmoreland. He was a retired Auto sales manager. Surviving is a daughter, LuAnn and Steve Marshall of Orlando. Fla.; grandchildren and spouses, Peter and Hajar Westmoreland of Seattle, WA, Joseph Wright of Orlando, Erica Kail of Orlando, Steve Jr. and Natalie Marshall of Apopka, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Trey Marshall, Amanda Marshall, Aubrey Jean Marshall and Evan Beaudry.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Don Lampron of Mount Airy and Edie and Arlyss (Jack) Jackson of Viera, Fla.; former daughter-in-law and husband, Paula and Doug Duppstadt of Oviedo, Fla. In addition to his parents, Mr. Westmoreland was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Pete) Cox Westmoreland; a son, William Samuel Westmoreland and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Gifford Rigney. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bud Cameron. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 123. The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
