Program to help seniors become advocates

PILOT MOUNTAIN Sarah Meek, Community Action Network director from the Alliance of Retired Americans in Washington, D.C., will present Advocacy 101: Become a Senior Advocate from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 17 at the Armfield Civic and Recreation Center in Pilot Mountain. She will be assisted by Jack Marion, Western NC Alliance Organizer.
This interactive educational seminar on becoming a senior advocate will be hosted by the North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans. Learn how federal policy impacts ones daily life and the lives of ones family. Practice speaking to family and friends about policy issues that are important. Work together to raise the senior voices with leaders in Washington. Seniors and their family and friends of all levels of political knowledge and interest are welcome. Refreshments provided.
