ENNICE Dale Loyd Todd, 89, of 574 Hardin Camp Road, Ennice, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Central Continuing Care. Born March 19, 1920, in Alleghany County, the son of Zollie Richardson Todd and Floyd Todd. Mr. Todd is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pawnee Poole Todd; one son, Jeral Dale Todd and his wife Pat Coe Todd of Dobson; and one daughter, Sandra Todd Parker and husband Sammy Gray Parker of Mount Airy; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Todd; and his specials friend, Tarona Hollingsworth and her husband John Hollingworth and Veronica Byars and her husband Terry Byars; one step grandchild, Sam Parker and his wife Ingle Parker; three great grandchildren, Kylie Hollingsworth, Haley and Brody Todd; and one step great-grandchild, Taven Parker. Mr. Todd was preceded in death by one brother, Kyle Todd; and two sisters, Erda Todd Edwards, Wilma Todd Craven and a sister who died in infancy. Mr. Todd attended Saddle Mountain Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver for Hennis/Spector. He served in the United States Army and fought during World War II. Mr. Todd was an enthusiastic traveler and a wonderful family man. Funeral services will be conducted by Elder Gwyn Hamm at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at 2 p.m. Military Graveside Honors will be given by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post 123. The family will recieve friends at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence of Sandra and Gray Parker, 197 Boston Circle, Mount Airy.
