Flea market to host food, toy drive

PILOT MOUNTAIN On Dec. 12 the Pilot Mountain Flea Market will be going all out for Christmas with Santa, with the mission to collect food for local food pantries.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be gifts and treats for the kids who come that day. Kids can also have their photo taken with Santa.
We are going to be giving away gifts out of the booths like every hour. We are having a drawing for a flat screen TV. You have to be present to win that one. But you can register each time you come in from now until Dec. 12, Craddock said.
The drawing for the TV will be at 3 p.m. The group is also giving away two $75 gift certificates to Food Lion.
In addition to the canned food drive, Craddock said she hopes that people will bring by new, unwrapped toys for children to go along with a toy drive. The food will be delivered to the Foothills Food Pantry in Dobson.
Debbie Craddock and her husband, Carl, own the Flea Market in the old Amos and Smith building located at 612 E. Main Street.
