The home of Bill and Tina Johnson, located at 140 Plantation Place Lane in Hazelnut Plantation, off Greenhill Road near Cross Creek Country Club, will be on the Christmas Tour of Homes this year.
The Johnsons home is the only two-story house in the community and is located at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Bill Johnson is the vice president of J.G. Coram and the developer of the neighborhood. He said his home was finished four years ago, but wasnt complete until he married his wife, Tina, in August.
Their home is filled with upscale eclectic furnishings. The structure has an open floor plan that reflects the casual elegance of the couples taste.
Visitors to the home can get a glimpse of Bills rooster collection that is scattered throughout the house. The home was newly remodeled with a tile backsplash in the kitchen and bar area.
The Johnsons said they love to spend time outside on their patio in warmer weather listening to the creek and a nearby waterfall.
This is neat because we are close to Cross Creek, Bill Johnson said.
It feels just like we are living in the mountains, Tina Johnson added. We enjoy the creek and the neighborhood. The kids really love it, too.
Tina Johnson is the senior vice president of SB&T Insurance with Surrey Bank & Trust.
We just love to live here, she said.
The upstairs of the home will not be on display, she said, because they steps are steep.
Tickets for the event are $10 and the tour is self-guided. Tickets are available at the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce, at the Gertrude Smith House, by calling Betty Wright at 786-4512, or at the individuals homes on the days of the tours.
