Suspect caught, one sought in Ararat theft

STUART, Va. Patrick County authorities are seeking the publics help in trying to apprehend a suspect in a gun theft in Ararat.
Christopher Allen Odom, 32, of 467 Longbranch Road in Claudville, is wanted on breaking and entering and grand larceny charges in connection with an incident last Friday at a home at 3770 Friends Mission Road.
Anyone with information on the possible whereabouts of Odom is asked to contact Investigator Nick Pendleton or Patrick County Crimestoppers at (276) 694-5000.
Stolen from the Friends Mission Road location were nine firearms, a gun safe and assorted ammunition, valued altogether at more than $3,500.
Due to the observation of a concerned citizen and quick response from our deputies, this case was solved, said Patrick Sheriff Dan Smith. An anonymous tip led officers to Odoms home on Longbranch Road, where stolen items were recovered.
Anthony Shane Humble, 29, who also lives at that residence, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Humble, additionally wanted on outstanding probation-violation warrants from Kentucky and Missouri, is being held in the Patrick County Jail in Stuart without privilege of bond.
