Cancer Support Group volunteer Carolyn Largen, who is a 24-year cancer survivor, compares a Relay for Life shirt from 2000 to others placed on tables in Pages Books & Coffee in downtown Mount Airy. Largen said she thought it would not only remind civic-minded people about the Sept. 7 fundraiser but make a personal connection with visitors because it is a national event. The shirts are from her collection and adorn 14 tables.
