The Surry Arts Council will be presenting “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Andy Griffith Playhouse.
Artistic Director Bobby Bodford describes “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood” as “A cross between Men in Tights and the Professional Bowlers Tour.”
Written by playwright Mary Lynn Dobson, this take on the classic tale features an egotistical Robin Hood, bumbling Merry Men, and a skin condition-obsessed Lady Marian.
“This cast has really taken the script and run with it,” Bodford says, “they will have the audience — children and adults — laughing in their seats.”
Tickets are on sale for $10 each and can be purchased from the Surry Arts Council at 336-786-7998 or online at surryarts.org.
