Auditions for ‘Joseph’ set

The Surry Arts Council will host auditions for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” on Monday and Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Andy Griffith Playhouse.

Numerous parts are available, including 17 men, several women, a chorus, and a children’s chorus. Those auditioning will be asked to perform selections from the score.

Anyone interested in costuming, technical assistance, staging, and set building is invited to come to auditions and indicate areas of interest.

“Joseph and the Amazing Techniclor Dreamcoat” show dates are April 26-28.

John Adams, commercial television director, writer, and producer is directing the show. He is an adjunct professor at the UNC School of the Arts.

Mark Pilson is returning to the Andy Griffith Playhouse to serve as musical director. Patti Miller Fulk, director of Voce, will be collaborating with them on vocal performance. Ellen Eich will assist with piano accompaniment for auditions. Mary Emily Cooke will oversee costuming for the show and Ken White will be the technical director. Steve Welker will oversee the set construction.
