The Mount Airy Bears boys bested the Forbush Falcons last night by a score a 67-48 in the AES Thanksgiving Classic.

The score at the end of each quarter was as follows: first — Mount Airy 15, Forbush, 5 ; second — Mount Airy 19, Forbush 19; third — Mount Airy 35, Forbush 49; and fourth — Mount Airy 48, Forbush, 67.

Kahleel Dailey was the game high scorer, sinking 20 points. Carson Mounce had seven points, Austin Taylor had eight, Freshman Sean Best scored eight, and Caleb Horton scored six.

Mount Airy Head Coach Levi Goins said, “I was impressed with our effort. We jumped on some loose balls that we let go last night, the intensity was better. We jumped out to a 15- 1 lead and maintained the defensive pressure.”

Darius Gwyn stole at least three balls to set up assists and scored four points. Many others on the team contributed at least two points.

The Bears will play in Elkin on Friday and the first conference game is against North Surry on Dec. 4.

Way to go Varsity Boy Bears!!! Well played weekend, but poorly written article... As each quarter scores were written, the 3rd and 4th were incorrect. Should be the opposite. Then after that sentence the Final Score was incorrect.Should be BEARS 67, Forebush 48.

Then once again... when listing the player’s scores, Sean Best is NOT a freshman but an outstanding senior. And the FRESHMAN, Dylan Gallimore scored 7.

That being said... reporters make mistakes, we're all human. They were probably distracted and bothered, like the rest of the community over the poor decisions 'The Mount Airy News' has made recently with their staffing decisions!!!

Mondee Tilley's name is who I think of when I think of the Mount Airy News. I know that she's dedicated a lot of sweat and blood for an ungrateful Company. You’ve probably lost a lot of subscribers due to this decision.
