Mrs. Mintoria Bowman Posey, 99, of 3482 Volunteer Rd. Pinnacle, NC., passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012. Mrs. Posey was born October 31, 1913 in Patrick County, VA. to the late Susie Ellen Hall, she was a homemaker and the oldest living member of Olive Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Mintoria loved her church family and looked forward to going to any service. She was a good southern cook, an excellent seamstress and loved homecoming with lunch on the grounds, any activity; she wanted to be a part of it as long as she was able and as long as there was good preaching and good singing. She is survived by two daughters Barbara P. Shelton of Pinnacle and Mattie P. Payne of Pilot Mountain, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, one great great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Posey was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Woodrow Posey, one son Ernest Larry Posey, two brothers Clinton Bowman and Estel Bowman and by a son-in-law Eddie “Ed” W. Shelton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with services conducted by Rev. Mitch Robertson and Rev. Ricky Spencer. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM at the Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. A private graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at Pine Hill Friends Meetings Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
