Lady Bears win 82-32 against the Lady Elks

Elkin — The Lady Bears dominated in a team effort on the road and defeated the Lady Elks by a score of 82-32.

Lady Bears Head Coach Howard Mayo said the team came out on the court and did their job by immediately forcing the tempo of the game.

“We took advantage of our depth tonight,” Mayo said.

Mayo said that five people on the team scored in double figures and the scoring effort was led by Andi Moore, who had 13 points.

Mayo said that he was impressed especially with the team effort of 26 assists and pleased that five team members scored in double figures.

The Bears led by a score of 14- 4 in the first quarter and the Bears had extended the lead with a score of 34-16 at half-time.

“We scored 24 points in the third quarter and they scored six and we had 24 in the fourth and they had ten,” Mayo said.

The leading scorers were: Andi Moore 13, Alex Atkins 12, Mikayla Seivers 11, Davi Barbour 11, Dana Brown 10, Jasmine Varney 9, Kathryn Beasley 4, Skylar Flippen 2 and Ayano Shelton 2.

The Lady Bears are 3-0 and will play against North Surry on Tuesday.
