MOUNT AIRY — Mrs. Myrtle Tilley Branch, 80, of Mount Airy, widow of Mr. Thomas Norman Branch, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, into the arms of Jesus at Forsyth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Surry County to the late Roland and Daisy Whitaker Tilley. She was the former owner of Boonville Restaurant and is of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Jerry Tolbert and Brenda and Tim Martin, all of Mount Airy; grandchildren and their spouses, Shannon and Brad Mosley, Travis and Felicia Tolbert, Brooke and Gary Golding and Mandy Martin, all of Mount Airy; great-grandchildren, Karson Mosley, Lance Mosley and Smith Golding, all of Mount Airy; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggy Hicks, Ruth and Larry Martin, all of Mount Airy; and brothers and sister-in-law, Jesse and Betty Tilley and Alvin Tilley, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Branch was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Fred and Melvin Tilley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Watson and the Rev. Steven Corn officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy. The family would like to give its heartfelt thanks to Ginny Orosz at Northwest Medical Partners, to Dr. Chrysson and the staff of Piedmont Hematology and Oncology and to the nurses on 9 West at Forsyth Medical Center for their love and care given to Mrs. Branch during her illness.
