Arrests

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has reported the following arrests:

• On Jan. 16, Timothy Dale Arnder, 35, of North Academy Street in Dobson, was arrested and charged with obtaining property under false pretenses and the possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $3,000 bond.

• On Jan. 15, Alyson Taylor Akers, 23, of Westfield Road in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with one count of breaking and entering and one count of larceny. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $250,000 bond.

• On Jan. 14, Levi Randall Goad, 21, of Cherokee Trail in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice and two counts of the possession of a schedule II drug. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.

• On Jan. 14, Jerry Theauh Tran, 20, of East Pine Street in Mount Airy, was arrested on a military warrant for being a deserter. He was booked into the Surry County Jail without the benefit of bond.

• On Jan. 11, Donald Ray Beck, 43, of Charles Beck Lane in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with the possession of a stolen vehicle and altering a vehicle’s serial numbers. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 bond.

• On Jan. 11, Amanda Christine Brewer, 23, of Siloam Road in Siloam, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 bond.

Incidents

The following incidents are under investigation by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office:

• On Jan. 11, Arnold Wendell Phillips, 69, of AZ Phillips Road in Elkin, reported the larceny of a black Angus heifer cow. The animal was valued at $342.

• On Jan. 11, Jason Murice Massey, 40, of New Life Church Road in Dobson, reported the theft of multiple batteries and battery cables from his business. The items taken were valued at $700.
