North Stokes’ Jason Lippard resigned his post as athletic director and Vikings football coach yesterday. His scheduled last day is Feb. 22.
As coach and athletic director at North Stokes, Lippard oversaw renovations to the school’s weight room and worked to foster a winning mentality in what had been a struggling Vikings football team.
In the two years that Lippard was coach, he helped the team chalk up wins on the field. In 2011, the Vikings went 5-7 and in 2012 they were 4-8. He said that he wished the team could have done more, but that football is more than just a game, it’s about “life lessons,” as well.
Lippard resigned after being offered a position to coach football at Brevard High School in Brevard, NC – just south of Asheville.
“It’s a move that’s in the best interest of my entire family,” he said. “I will forever be grateful for getting the opportunity to coach at North, and Stokes County as whole will always have a very special place in my heart.”
