The Surry Central Golden Eagle girl’s softball team took their third win on Friday against the West Stokes Wildcats and moved their overall record to 3-2 and 1-0 in the conference.

Head Coach Glenn Craddock said in the game there was a lot of hard-hitting on both teams and said he saw a lot of good softball on both sides. Craddock said his team battled, at one point was tied, then took the lead, held on and continued to built momentum against the Wildcats.

Craddock said Cassidy Joyner drove in Kendra Johnson in the first inning after hitting a double. In the top of the second inning, Kaitlin Anthony hit a double and drove in Megan Hudson who had hit a single hit.

In another play of the game in the third, Jordan Wood hit a double to bring in Brittany Meyers who had just got a base hit and gave the team the lead to finish with the win.

The Golden Eagles will play at North Stokes on Tuesday at home.
