Police chase leads to drug charges

A High Point man is facing multiple drug charges following a police pursuit on Highway 601 Friday night.According to Sheriff Graham Atkinson, the incident began around 9:40 p.m., when a county deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle on the highway for a tail light violation.“The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit that covered over three-and-a-half miles,” he said.The pursuit eventually came to a conclusion on Highway 268 just west of the intersection with Highway 601.
