Police reports


• A ring valued at $2,500 has been reported stolen in Mount Airy, according to city police department reports. Police were told last Wednesday that the white-gold, six-prong diamond solitaire had been taken from an unidentified store located at 202 N. Main St. The theft is believed to have occurred in June.

• An unspecified sum of money and two Milwaukee pocketknives valued at $20 were stolen last Wednesday from an unsecured 1996 Ford Windstar van while it was in a parking lot at 200 Franklin St. Tommy Andrew Fultz of Hodges Road in Lowgap is listed as the victim of the incident.

• A break-in crime was discovered at Rock City Diner on North Andy Griffith Parkway on July 13. A door to the restaurant was hit and dented in an attempt to gain entry.

• Tasha Sue Lindley, 32, of 7 Silver Lane, Claudville, Virginia, was served on July 13 with an outstanding warrant for a larceny violation which had been issued on June 20. No details were listed regarding the case, for which Lindley is to be in Surry District Court on Aug. 18.

• Shain Daniel Olson, 21, of 135 W. Lebanon St., was arrested for trespassing on July 12 after he was encountered on the Ararat River Greenway during an intoxicated pedestrian call. Olson previously had been banned from all city property in April 2009 by a police officer. He was jailed under a $1,500 secured bond and slated for an Aug. 25 appearance in District Court.

• Jamie Lee Meredith, 38, of 304 Floyd Mayes Road, Dobson, was cited for larceny at Walmart on July 10, after he allegedly stole a package of ribeye steaks valued at $25. Meredith is scheduled to appear in District Court on Sept. 9.

• Two unsecured vehicles were discovered to have been broken into on July 10 at the Junction Street residence of victims Joseph Brian Secrest and Kristen Kollette Secrest, a 2008 Ford Escape and 2000 Ford F-150 pickup. Items taken included a Sony radio valued at $200.
