Arrest reports from the Surry County Sheriff’s Office

• Alton Wayne Propst, 31, of Oakland Drive, was arrested on Oct. 13 and charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the sale, manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a schedule VI substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, and trafficking opium or heroin. Bond was set by Magistrate David Gardner at $46,500 secured with a court date of Dec. 9.

• Aaron James Epperson, of Dinosaur Lane, Mount Airy, was arrested on Oct. 9 and charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods and property. Epperson was in the custody of the Surry County Detention Center when the warrants were served. Magistrate Chris Hiatt placed Epperson under a $5,000 secured bond and scheduled him to appear in Stokes County Court on Nov. 18.

• Pamela Sue Moorefield, 47, of Shoals Road, Pinnacle, was charged with misdemeanor larceny on Oct. 10. Moorefield was in the custody of the Surry County Detention Center when arrested. Bond was set at $1,500 secured by Magistrate John Snow with a court date of Nov. 20 in Forsyth County.

• Jonathan Taylor Mabe, of Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, was arrested on Oct. 11 for violating a domestic violence protection order. No bond was set by Magistrate John Snow. Mabe is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 12.

• Calon Layne Williams, 19, of Brim Road, Mount Airy, was arrested on Oct. 15 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver a schedule VI substance and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon. Bond was set at $300 secured by John Snow with a court date of Oct. 16.

• Dennis Eugene Childress, of U.S. Highway 21, State Road, was arrested on Oct. 15 and charged with misdemeanor larceny. Bond was set at $500 secured by Magistrate John Snow, with a court date of Oct. 20.

• Bobby Ray Jones, of Oddesey Way, Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon on Oct. 15. Jones was released with a written promise to appear in court on Oct. 27 by Magistrate John Snow.

• Jimmy Dean Poole, 32, of York Road, Mount Airy, was arrested on Oct. 15 and charged with a misdemeanor domestic violence order violation. No bond was set by Dearmin and a court date is scheduled for Nov. 20. Poole was charged at 1:01 with felony 50B violation and felony possession of methamphetamine. No bond was set and a court date of Dec. 9.
