A local group of political activists will play host to a book-signing event Thursday.
The Surry-Stokes Women Republicans will host Rosemary Stein for a book-signing at the county GOP headquarters at the Mayberry Mall. The event begins at 7 p.m.
Stein, who recently lost a bid for the Republican nomination to head the state Department of Education, will speak about her book, Who Needs a Village?: It’s a Mom Thing, for 30 to 45 minutes, according to Women Republicans president Kim Wilson. She will have copies of her book on hand at the event.
According to Amazon.com, “Dr. Stein explains how modern parenting has created a generation of children lacking the confidence and skills to succeed in the real world — and tells parents (and moms especially) what they need to do to get their kids back on track” in her recently published book.
Stein is a pediatrician and director of the International Family Clinic in Burlington.
